Enjoy a rousing conversation with your Mac! Eliza will play the part of a psychologist, conducting an open-ended clinical interview. As the patient, you get opinions and advice on a wide range of subjects. Eliza has a large vocabulary and the ability to formulate a virtually unlimited number of responses.

Manager, you can actually watch and
listen as Eliza responds!
Select ‘Start Interview’ when you are ready to match wits with a dumb (?) computer. Eliza will make a statement and then wait for your reply. Type your response, followed by a carriage return. Be sure to enter your reply at the end of the text.
Eliza requires System version 6.0.7 or newer. If you wish to hear Eliza speak, you should install Apple’s Speech Manager extension in your Extensions folder (along with any desired voices). The program runs perfectly well without the Speech Manager.
Eliza can be used as a simple text editor. It is System 7 compatible, 32 bit clean, 68040 cache compatible, required Apple Event aware and makes use of extended keyboard keys.
I used the wonderful Metrowerks Codewarrior‚Ñ¢ compiler and would recommend it to any other novice programmer. The company support is excellent.
